HOKUM BY PENNY
I create clothes and objects made to be treasured.
Each piece begins with a narrative - a nostalgic reference, a chapter of history, a place with a paticular light, or simply a colour encountered and never forgotten.
Everything at Hokum begins by hand, each piece a vision I work towards, slowly until it arrives.
THE ATELIER
Once the vision is settled, the work of realising it begins - silks, cottons, and leathers chosen with the same care as the pieces they will become.
I was always taught that a garment should be just as beautiful on the inside as the out. At hokum, that belief runs through everything. down to the french seams finished by hand.
